About Summit Township, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Summit Township is located in Erie County, Pennsylvania, and as of 2000 it was home to approximately 5,600 residents. This is the second youngest and the second smallest (by total area) township in all of Erie County. Summit Township was founded out of parts of Greene in 1854, and many people believe that its name was born when early settlers journeyed from the lakeshore upwards until they reached the dividing ridge that separates the Ohio River Basin from the Lake Erie Watershed. Originally a farm community, Summit is now a mix of industrial, agricultural, and commercial facilities. This community has also reaped some of the benefits of urban sprawl as commercial development has grown in Erie.

There are several things to see and do when traveling to Summit Township and the surrounding communities. Summit Township is home to the Presque Isle Downs and Casino, a horse racing track that features races like the Tom Ridge Stakes and the Presque Isle Mile. Splash Lagoon, the family friendly indoor water park, is fund in this township, as is the Family First Sports Park. Other notable attractions are located nearby, including the Cinemark movie theater and Millcreek Mall Complex.

When living in Summit Township, it is important to invest in energy efficient home heating and cooling systems to use at various points throughout the year. During the summer, weather conditions can be warm to hot, with average high temperatures in July reaching nearly 80 degrees. A reliable central air conditioning unit will keep indoor temperatures cool while improving air quality, but these systems will usually be turned off in favor of the furnace when the winter weather sets in. During these cold months, significant snowfall is common, and a reliable home heating system is crucial to keep indoor temperatures safe while preventing pipes from freeze damage.
